Diana's Right of Reply!

The Other Half!
Hello my name is Diana and I am a Bayko wife.
After working as a secretary, I am at present studying as a mature student for a doctorate in Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University, having gained a B.A. in History in 2005 and an M.A. in Creative Writing in 2008.
My interests are travel, creative writing, walking, and crosswords.

So, what is it like to be married to the Baykoman?
The good part is that it can, if I feel the need, transport me to many places in the UK...
...not that I spend my time actually in a swapmeet or an exhibition – once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all - but that of course is only the view of an outsider.
I spend the time visiting new places that vary greatly - seaside resorts, city centres and small market towns alike, with a good selection of bookshops, heritage centres and restaurants.
And if I decide to stay at home I can have the place to myself – eat when I like, watch exactly what I want on the television, and generally suit myself.

Not so bad, I hear you say...
...well, what about the down side?
Diana - a little younger!

Many years ago, before I met the Baykoman, I was an orderly person.
I was tidy...
...everything had a place, and I knew where it was.
Now I have a house I hardly recognise.
The moment I enter the door a pile of boxes and crates greet me.
The dining room is no longer for eating in as the table has been covered with plastic Bayko pieces for six months.
I have to navigate an assault course in the hall to reach the stairs and the main bedroom and small office are strewn with boxes, packets, and literature.

I can’t say that I’ve been converted as I long to have a home that is free of all these extra bits and pieces, but somewhere along the way Bayko sort of took over and it was a case of ‘if you can’t beat it join it.’

Pete's comment : -
Well, don't try and tell me I've edited that - part from that, I now have a substantial BAYKO shed, so Di's chaos comments are history!

If you are a fellow sufferer as a BAYKO Widow [or suffer from any similar debilitating condition!!] why not e-mail Diana and compare notes...

I suppose, in the interest of editorial integrity, I should point out that we have, sadly, now separated and are heading for divorce, after 31 years marriage.
